How does an Essence benefit the skin?

The cleansing/toning step can to be stripping, and while skin may feel “squeaky clean”, in effect the natural moisture balance has been stripped away, causing skin to feel tight and dry.  Essences are rich in humectants and/or emollients which are designed to draw water into the skin and also act as a delivery vehicle for skin beneficial ingredients.  Using an Essence before applying treatments and moisturizers, preps and helps the skin better absorb those products and the benefits they product.

How is an Essence different from a Toner or Micellar Water?

A Toner’s main purpose is balancing the skin’s pH and often contains alcohol, witch hazel or other ingredients that may strip or over-dry skin.  Micellar (cleansing) Water is made using purified water, a moisturizing agent and mild surfactants with the main function of removing dirt and impurities from the skin. While an Essence while may appear to be a similar lightweight liquid texture, it has very different function; that of delivering moisture and prepping skin for better absorption of treatments and creams.

Where does GENIUS Liquid Collagen Essence go in my regimen?

After cleaning and toing your skin, evenly apply the Essence all over your face and neck.  Follow with treatment/serum and finally seal with a moisturizer. By applying products from lighter (toner) to heavier (moisturizer), it allows the skin to absorb each product separately.

What skin type would benefit from using GENIUS Liquid Collagen Essence?

Liquid Collagen Essence is a universal product – practically every skin type can benefit from adding an it into their regimen.  For skin that is dry or dehydrated, adding the Essence is a boost of moisture that is quickly and easily absorbed, and by providing a layering effect, can improve the performance of moisturizers or cream.  As Liquid Collagen Essence is alcohol-free, it has none of the stripping, drying effects that may accompany toners or balancing lotions. For skin that is oily or combination, surface dehydration may still be present and the moisture-boost provided by the Essence, will help quench the dehydration while balancing oil production.  Liquid Collagen Essence’s oil-free formula provides humectants and hydration without heaviness or additional oils.
